The buffet comes with a press note article from sotheby´s were the same piece of furniture was offered in a past auction in the 90s decade
The article reads as follows:
“Sotheby’s:
The chairs and the tuflet were made around the turn of the century in so-called ‘neo styles’. This means that different styles from previous centuries have often been adopted interchangeably. In the case of the modern buffet with upstand and a road-veined marble top (the so-called maxbre or Ardèche), this can be seen in the use of earlier ornaments such as the carved pendeloques, cam nelures and vase-shaped ornaments. These are all examples from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, with furniture to be dated between 1850 and 1910/1920. During the period, these fantasized pieces of furniture were in fashion. The buffet is worth between 2000 and 12500. The value of the seats is between /1500 and 2000 per six”
