Vintage Design
The four legs at the top have a classic saber shape and are joined together by a rectangular top, also with floral inlays, which, in addition to its practical and aesthetic function, makes the toilet solidly stable; at the bottom, the legs have the sinuous “cabriole” shape.
The faux drawer under the top is divided into comfortable deep compartments; on each front leg are placed two curly gilt bronze decorations and also a small one at the end of the legs themselves. This work of art was created by a true Master cabinetmaker in a perfect and meticulous manner between 1850 and 1855 in a craft workshop in the city of Nantes, located in the Loire region. The Masters had a lot of freedom to create the decorative pattern they liked best. For this reason, each inlay is unique. The colors of the inlay changed depending on the essence, cut, and grain of the wood. These factors, in fact, made the refraction of light on the surface vary. Its right dimensions, symmetry, balance of proportions, and precious inlays make our piece of furniture a valuable and versatile object that can be placed without difficulty in any type of environment. The object is in good condition.
